Thank God for a guy who's not a sex criminal. Despite all his event stuff, cruises (I've never been able to afford a cruise but I hear cruises in general can get crazy), conventions, etc, I've never ONCE heard any wild stories of abuse or grooming or weird sex crimes or anything, which disappointingly feels like a ******* rarity some weeks. He outwardly supports trans rights and similar progressive stuff. He honestly reminds me of my mom in that way. "He seems honest, maybe a little emotional sometimes. We have restored this functionality for the project. But the engine fully supported the system. In the leak DNF01 does not let you select from difficulties in the UI. We have also fixed the difficulty system. It now shows the player’s objectives properly.
We have also fixed the objectives screen. We have also added in a self-shadowing system and restored the built-in functionality for hit feedback. Many of the levels have blank geometry that hints something was there, so we are filling it in with detail and allowing Duke to go there. We have also found evidence in the levels they were intended to be much larger and more sprawling, so we are progressing further in that direction. We feel this will give players more opportunity to find secrets in levels as well as easter eggs. Shown above there is footage of the fixed Sniper enemies which will show up placed in various levels within Chapter 2.Ī big focus this month has been opening the driving levels so the player can explore the levels more thoroughly. The bulk of work that has been done this month has been level fixes to make levels match closer to development trailers/screenshots. DUKE NUKEM FOREVER 2003 UPDATE
The feedback from the July update has been very motivating. Side-mods are planned with new content, though these are expected only for after the main release of the restoration. We are well aware of this importance, and as such we as a team strive to deliver only the best of Duke, with no post-2003 content or politics being featured in any main stable release of the build.

Now, it is here and it is getting restored by the community so that, one day, you can play the full game on modern machines with (hopefully!) no issues. This leak holds a lot of importance to the community, the 20 versions being considered the time when DNF was in its' 'prime', and as such has been sought after for nearly a decade. Much of the content seen in the E3 trailers and promotional material for the game have been restored, with an all-new story being developed by a combined story team of 23 members to bridge the gaps between what we know about the game and what we don't.
Many of these are industry experts, with plenty of well-known community figures and modders thrown into the mix hoping to leave their mark on the final restoration.Ĭurrent progress has been focused on finishing the polish for the first chapter of the game, 'High Stakes, Lady Killer' and working on a plethora of render and engine fixes alike with many major and small fixes already developed, such as a proper 'hair fix' and progress on an entirely new renderer for the game in DirectX® 9. All of these members hail from various parts of the world, with remote work taking place any time of the day. While starting off small, it quickly blossomed into an organized team the size of a small studio boasting over 100 volunteering members in various positions at peak. This resulted in a flurry of renewed interest in Duke and the game itself and quickly attracted both vets and new blood alike interested in modifying the game's source code.
The DNF2001 Restoration Project was created roughly a day or two after the Augand Octoversions of Duke Nukem Forever dated a whole 10 years before the release of the final game, were leaked by x0r_jmp on the /v/ board of 4chan.
